Let’s talk about the productive process of making fabric. Many of you may be unaware of the complex process and captivating appeal of this tiny segment of the fashion industry.
The world of textiles goes beyond what you think, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.
1. TRENDS
Our creative team analyzes all trends and fashion shows from major brands. Afterwords, the narrative, moldboards, colors and textures that will define the collection begin to come together. The idea is to create textiles that resonate with tomorrow’s consumers by strategically engage with preferences and current market tendencies.
2. YARNS
Meeting with yarn suppliers also helps us create new structures, adjusting the yarn count and composition for each season. Fantasy yarns, new sustainable fibers, technical compositions and everything else that is being done in the yarn sector to serve trend evolution and client demand. Each season, we meet with our yarn suppliers in order to see the latest developments.
3. TECHNICAL
A detailed analysis is conducted to understand if a fabric can be produced and what gauge is appropriate for the chosen yarns and fabrics. Sometimes ideas that can be very creative might not work with the available machinery. After this step is concluded, we can order yarn and move on to production.
4. PRODUCTION
Depending on the structure of the fabric, the assembly of the different parts of the machinery, placing the yarns in their correct positions, and actually making the fabric requires a long time. When the circular knitting machine is working correctly, we need to validate the fabric and double-check if the technical details are correct and as requested.
5. BULK INSPECTION
At this point, our quality control team that goes through the bulk fabric and checks for defects. Once the entire inspection is completed, a full report is drafted to advise the team if extra care needs to be taken into consideration.
6. COLOR
Every fabric is developed for a certain type of garment, and color choice is very important. The laboratory prepares the components and adjusts them to the composition of the fabric. Some fibers are dyed with a type of dyestuff that simply can’t be used on another. Once the test is completed, we then choose the lab dip for the fabric.
7. DYEING & FINISHING
The dyeing and finishing processes are delicate and take a long time to be concluded. Considering that all fabrics are unique, so are the stages to fully finishing them. Wash, whiten, heat, dye, brush and laminate. These are just some of the stages that result in a perfectly finished product.
8. TESTING
It’s important to make sure that the quality meets its requirements. We offer high-quality products and guarantee that the shrinkage won’t affect the garment after washing. Even though the dye house conducts its own testing, we ensure internally that every roll has perfect dimensional stability.
9. FINAL INSPECTION
Before delivery, final quality control is conducted on the extent of the fabric quantity. Another detailed report is completed to assure fabric quality. Now the fabric is ready to ship to our clients.
