Magma Group was born in the year 2008, following the change of the Portuguese and European textile market while the crises of 2008. Because of the constant grow of the company Mesclarisk, and the growth of the European clients, the company open the sister company, Magma Textil. Magma Textil was born in the year 2012. Because of that we are able to supply the clients all over the world with all kind of knits. From jerseys, fleeces, until double faces, interlocks and French Terrys.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognized requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent third-party certification of the entire textile supply chain.

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) — a global not-for-profit organization — is the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world. In the 2018-19 cotton season, 2.3 million BCI Farmers received training on more sustainable farming practices and produced 5.6 million tonnes of Better Cotton – that equates to 22% of global cotton production.

BCI specific goals:

• Reduce the environmental impact of cotton production

• Improve livelihoods and economic development in cotton producing areas

• Improve commitment to and flow of Better Cotton throughout supply chain

• Ensure the credibility and sustainability of the Better Cotton Initiative
